Self Introduction
Hello!
I am contacting your school regarding an advertised opening for an ESL teacher. I am extremely interested in the position. I am a recent graduate of Otis College of Arts and Design where I earned an M.F.A. in Creative Writing; in addition to earning my Masters from Otis, I also received my Bachelors of Science in History from the University of Texas at Tyler in Tyler, Texas. I also have my teaching certification in English.
I believe that I possess the qualifications and can fulfill the responsibilities for an English teaching position because of my background in education and tutoring. I am currently working as an adjunct at Santa Barbara Business College, where I’ve taught Rhetoric, Composition & Grammar. In addition to teaching at SBBC, I have prior experience working as a writing consultant and teaching assistant at Otis College of Arts and Design for two years. As a Teaching Assistant, I have learned to engage diverse populations both in the realms of cultural makeup and learning abilities. In addition to teaching at Otis, I have experience in teaching the English Language Learning, population, and I am certified to do so. At this moment, I have open availability to teach.
In conclusion, I feel that I am qualified for the position, but more importantly, I believe that if given the opportunity to fill the position that I could excel. Further, my resume, which I have attached, contains additional details about my employment and educational experiences. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my qualifications or to supply additional information. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ashley Jackson
