Self Introduction
The characteristics that help make me a strong candidate for the role of ESL Teacher are my interpersonal skills, my staunch dedication to achieving success, and my relationshipbuilding talents. Active listening, empathy, and my drive to help others achieve their learning goals are key to my ability to deliver any type of educational material. Helping students achieve their learning goals starts with understanding what learning methods are the best for them and augmenting the material to be better suit their styles of learning. From personal experience, I know how a great teacher can inspire a student to achieve what they are capable of. Throughout my TESOL certification courses, I have learned how difficult learning English as a second language can be. Having learned the coping skills to overcome learning disabilities, ADD, and Dyslexia, I know how difficult it can be to push past those mental hurdles to accomplish your dreams. In those moments of struggle what allowed me to keep striving for knowledge were the supportive teachers around me that took the time to help me achieve what they could see was possible for me. Whether I am communicating in small teams to accomplish great things, or leading large groups from the podium, these talents would make me a great Academic Instructor. In my last position, I was one of two fundraising staff that served a community of students, their parents, Faculty/Staff, over Alumni, and many others in the school’s larger community.
